The Yellow Card Podcast | Top Football Podcasts

Here at The Footy Gang, we love a good football podcast. During lockdown especially, we have found that listening to football podcasts offers that you that escape from reality, helping you get through the day and having a good laugh along the way.

We regularly write about football podcasts and have discussed a number of excellent football podcasts such as the I Had Trials Once Podcast, The Honest Football Podcast and also the Pitch Side Podcast. Today we will be talking about the outstanding 'Yellow Card Podcast'. The following article has been written by the team over at the Yellow Card Podcast and it one of our favourite football podcasts.

The Yellow Card Podcast is a weekly podcast based out of Boston, MA that discusses all things soccer/football. We are proud to be a member of the Couch Guy Sports podcasting network.

Every weekend cohosts Diego Galvis, Chris Jones and Andrew Fasciano sit down to discuss the topics in the world of football that we find to be most compelling. In the past, we have touched upon a wide range of domestic leagues, continental competitions, and international tournaments as well. If you are looking for a soccer/football show with lots of variety, you have come to the right place!

One of the recurring segments on our show is Champions League predictions. Every single week that Champions League action takes place, all three of us submit our score predictions for each game. At the moment, Chris leads the way with a record of 66-44. Diego is sitting at 58-52, while Andrew has a record of 33-27. As you can see, we are all currently safe with winning records. A lot can change at the top of the leader board with one bad week, so we must think hard about our selections.

The English Premier League is another topic that receives a lot of attention on the Yellow Card Podcast. Diego is a Manchester United fan, Chris is passionate about Liverpool, and Andrew is an Everton supporter. This spread of rooting allegiances means that we have a range of opinions and perspectives to offer. With regard to the Premier League, you can find us discussing the table, transfers, tactics and much more!

We all enjoy diving into hypotheticals and examining how we think things may unfold for certain clubs, players and managers in the short term and the more distant future. At the end of the day, we all want our teams to do as well as possible. At the same time, we also do our best to provide unbiased thoughts on the other 17 teams in the league.

Each weekend, we also like to host a live watch-along of the week’s most exciting match on the Couch Guys Sports Twitch channel. In the past, we have watched games such as the Manchester Derby, the Merseyside Derby, the North London Derby and more. So far, we have kept our watch-alongs based in England.

We have watched plenty of Premier League action, as well as FA Cup and EFL Cup clashes. In the future, we look forward to branching out and following along with other leagues and competitions as well. Besides being a Liverpool supporter, Chris is also a Juventus fan. We will have to get the Old Lady on the channel before too long.

Since we are based out of Massachusetts, we also bring a distinctly North American flavour to our football talk. All three of us are big fans of our hometown team, the New England Revolution. We greatly enjoyed covering the Revs’ run to the MLS Eastern Conference Final in 2020. Once the 2021 regular season gets going, we look forward to talking all things Revolution once again. We also take pride in our national teams, and we enjoy discussing the present and the future of the USMNT and USWNT.

Back in January, we had an incredible opportunity to interview A.J. DeLaGarza, who had recently signed for the Revolution. A.J. is a three-time MLS champion who established himself as one of the best defenders in the league during his time with the LA Galaxy. A.J. has also accomplished some incredible things off the field, as his work with the #LucaKnowsHeart campaign earned him the 2014 MLS Humanitarian of the Year award.

A.J. was extremely down to earth and easy to talk to. We were honoured to have gotten the chance to introduce him to Revs fans across New England!

We have had a ton of fun growing our community thus far, and we are extremely appreciative of everyone who has taken the time to listen or interact with us!
